On September 14th, the first hoisting of steel structure for ROCKLANDS Copper Processing Project of CuDECO in Australia generally contracted by Sinosteel MECC, was completed, indicating the official commencement of erection.
CuDECO is one of the 200 listed companies with main business in exploration and development of ROCKLANDS Copper Mine. Since 2010, SINOSTEEL MECC has cooperated with CuDECO on its ROCKLANDS Copper Processing Project, containing the construction of a 3mtpa beneficiating plant of copper concentrate and the auxiliary diesel power plant. Sinosteel MECC takes over the basic engineering, detailed engineering, equipment and steel structure supply, on-site erection of the beneficiation plant and EPC of the diesel power plant. This is the first non-ferrous mining project ever contracted by Chinese company in Australia, and also the first EPC project undertaken by Sinosteel MECC in Australian market, which was highly valued and well organized to actively adapt to the industry technical standards, relevant law and regulations as well as tax policy of developed country, thus to make this project an model for overseas mine business of the company and establish good base to participate in market competition in developed countries.
Owing to sufficient preparation, the on-site erection proceeds smoothly. Up to now, 1/5 of steel structure erection has finished and the drum scrubber is in place.
