On November 5 of 2021, hot tests of the 4mtpa traveling grate pelletizing plant contracted by Sinosteel MECC for Baowu Ma Steel started, only 13 months after the groundbreaking ceremony in October of 2020, which is a record-breaking fastest construction among projects of its kind.

The plant, which is the first traveling grate pelletizing plant of Baowu Group, is based on Sinosteel MECC's self-developed traveling grate pelletizing technology and key equipment, aiming to deliver low energy-consuming, low-carbon and high-quality pellets. 3D design, CFD and digital delivery are employed to this efficiency-upgrading and low-carbon process.

The energy consumption of full magnetite production is less than 18Kgce/t. As the cleanest agglomeration feed for blast furnace, replacing sinter ore, traveling grate pellets are advantageous in reducing pollutants and carbon dioxide emission before iron making. Carbon dioxide will drop by 10% in case fraction of pellet feed for blast furnace is increased from 10% to 50%.

Cloud collision collaboration system helps optimize engineering by detecting space interference and cutting down collision. Fault diagnosis and precise positioning are realized by automatic sensor monitoring.
