Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Sinosteel MECC"), has successfully won the bid for the 1.2 million tons Lanjigarh Coal EP+S project with Adani in India, setting a record in a new field at the beginning of the year with a new customer.
Adani, a multinational conglomerate, is the largest infrastructure company in India, with business operations spanning power transmission, coal and other energy extraction sectors. Additionally, Adani is expanding into renewable energy, airports, data centers, and the defense industry.
Since 2021, Sinosteel MECC has been tracking and participating in the bidding process for the Adani Lanjigarh Coal project. The two teams have maintained close communication, conducting in-depth negotiations on technical paths and execution details. After multiple rounds of competition, Sinosteel MECC stood out among six companies, securing the contract for Adani's annual production of 1.2 million tons of Lanjigarh Coal EP+S project.
According to the winning bid, Sinosteel MECC is responsible for constructing eight new pyrolysis furnaces and supporting facilities, providing the necessary raw materials for the customer's PVC plant (coal-based polyvinyl chloride) production. This project represents the first Lanjigarh Coal project in India, producing Lanjigarh Coal as well as by-products such as coal tar and coal gas.
Lanjigarh Coal production technology is widely recognized as a technique that maximizes the utilization of coal resources to manufacture the fuel and raw materials required for industrial processes.
