Cangzhou Zongheng 6MT steel complex is a greenfield project located in Huanghua Port, east of China, and it will be constructed by two phases, phase I 2MT, phase II 4MT. Sinosteel MECC undertake this project on EPC basis, making Sinosteel MECC the first Chinese enterprise building the steel complex project.
Phase I of 2 MT steel complex started in the beginning of 2007, the construction sites of all sections keep 24 hours in operation to ensure the project to be complete as scheduled. Up to late December of 2007, all the design and civil work have been finished, equipments of each section have been transported to project site and have begun to install. Regarding the BF, the hot stove and dedusting system had finished, the installment of BF body had been done more than half, mainframe of ironworks has been finished already. Meanwhile, equipment in main workshop of sintering plant has begun the installation; four limekiln bodies of the total six have been finished, and main workship of shaft furnace section is in the same situation. The steel-making workshop is also at the stage of equipment erection. The whole steel complex is to put into operation by May 2008.
