On November 8th, 2011, before the project team of Sinosteel MECC at JSW Coking Project were about to leave for China after successfully finishing the construction of 3.4mtpa Coking Project of two stages, JSW held a grand gratitude banquet to express their appreciation for great contributions Sinosteel MECC has made in the past 6 years for the Coking Project construction.

Since March of 2006, Sinosteel MECC has signed successively the construction contracts of 1.5mtpa and 1.9mtpa coking projects with JSW Iron and Steel Company of Jindal Group. During nearly 6 years execution, despite the difficulties to be overcome including different design standard, financial crisis, visa issue, high temperature and huge cultural and diet differences, Sinosteel MECC implemented the project with good organization and strict management, realizing full production of 8 coke ovens of the two projects and collecting all contract payments. The project has created good economic benefit while setting the records of stamp-charging coke oven with biggest capacity ever constructed by Chinese company as well as the shortest time for coke oven operation and achieving designed capacity in India. JSW highly admitted Sinosteel MECC’s capability of constructing large-scale international projects, and expressed their admiration to our staffs for their professionalism. After the designed capacity of stage II was reached, JSW sent the letter of thanks and signed a new coke oven project with Sinosteel MECC.

The successful achievement of designed capacity of the above coke oven project has significant influence on Indian coking market and has presented its demonstration effect progressively. On one hand, the brand influence of Sinosteel MECC further expands, on the other hand the company also accumulates more experience in the construction of international coking projects, which creates positive conditions for exploring coking project market of other countries and ensuring the stability and sustainable development of overseas project market.
