After a few months of painstaking negotiation with joint effort by both parts, on August 18, 2006 SINOSTEEL MECC officially contracted for the No.3 coke dry quenching project of Liuzhou Steel. The total contract price amounts to 129.98 million RMB, with the supply scope containing coke dry quenching equipments and auxiliary facilities with rated capacity to handle 150t/h red coke. SINOSTEEL MECC is fully in charge of every respect ranging from technical process and equipment design, equipment procurement, civil construction, equipment installation, and commissioning. The construction period is expected to last 15 months.

The No. 3 coke dry quenching project is the reflection of Liuzhou Steel’s implementation of scientific development conception, and is also the key project of energy conservation, which will have great effect upon its energy saving and cost reduction, and will also help to establish environment friendly production, then in turn to enhance the competitiveness of the enterprise. Coke dry quenching technology has the obvious advantage in environment protection, with great potential in the market. The official award of the contract signals that the cooperation between SINOSTEEL MECC and Liuzhou Steel continuously deepens, and that SINOSTEEL MECC has made new breakthrough in exploring coke dry quenching market and has paved way for its further exploration in this market.
