The technical renovation project contracted by SINOSTEEL MECC for 1# Blast Furnace gas turbine blower of Baogang’s thermal power plant was put into operation on Dec.22 2004, which was 39 days ahead of the schedule and made a record time consumed for installation and commissioning of the similar equipment in China. After renovation, the max. power of turbine will be 35,000kw, the max. air flow rate will reach 8100m3/min as well as the air supply pressure 0.509MPa. The control system adopts the latest domestically developed computer control system and the equipment arrangement has achieved the world leading level, which dramatically relieve the short air supply for blast furnace. A grand openingceremony was held both by SINOSTEEL MECC and Baogang at Baogang’s Thermal Power Plant on that day. In a festival firecrackers and flying snow, Mr. LI Huimin, Standing Vice President of SINOSTEEL MECC, and Mr. LIN Donglu, Board Chairman, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Baogang cut the ribbon for the completion of this project.
