Sintering machine No.2 of the new upgraded sinter plant constructed by Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. (Sinosteel MECC) for Shandong Iron & Steel Group Laiwu Branch completed hot test on May 26, 2020.
Set record for construction time
Targeting to build a large, environmentally friendly, energy-saving, high-productivity sinter plant, the project, comprising 2 sets of 480m2 sintering machines with an designed annual capacity of 11.5 million tons sinter feed, is also equipped with flue gas desulfurization and denitrification, as well as environmental emission control system.
Commenced civil works on May 21, 2019 and completed the hot test of sintering machine No.1 on December 25 of the very same year, the project team has set a record of the construction time, only half of the schedule, for similar project construction. Despite the influence of COVID-19, Sinosteel MECC managed to keep everything go as planned. It only took 82 days that sintering machine No.2 completed overall civil works and workshop construction. On May 26, along with the successful hot test of sintering machine No.2, the complete sinter plant project was put into production.
