On November 28th, the coking plant of ERDEMIR officially supplied gas to the No.2 gas tank contracted by SINOSTEEL MECC. From then on the No.2 Gas Tank was officially put into operation. ERDEMIR No.2 Gas Tank was contracted by SINOSTEEL MECC on April 13th in Turkey, was not only the first gas tank project but also the first EPC contract at that time.

ERDEMIR No.2 gas tank, with capacity of 15000 m2, height of 51.7m and diameter of 23m, is a thirteen-sided polygon building. The working scope of SINOSTEEL MECC includes civil design and construction, process design, equipment design and manufacture, equipment installation and commissioning, and putting the equipment into operation. Especially when it comes to the civil construction MECC chose the local subcontractor through open bidding. This practice helps to accumulate the successful experiences for us in our future overseas EPC project.

Now SINOSTEEL MECC’s technicians are still working in site to continuously supervise the operation, and are preparing for the final acceptance of the gas tank.
