Recently, the F7 finishing mill unit of the 1800mm hot rolling project in Turkey, undertaken by Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. (Sinosteel MECC), has achieved a new milestone. The single-unit trial run of the finishing mill was successfully completed, creating favorable conditions for equipment linkage, regional linkage, simulated rolling, and hot load trial runs. This achievement has laid a solid foundation for the project's commissioning.
The main motor and supporting equipment of the finishing mill unit in this project include the main drive system, main motor lubrication system, rectifier transformer, excitation transformer, high-voltage switchgear, field communication system, and main drive cooling circulation system. Among them, the seven main motors for finishing rolling need to undergo speed cascading and precise synchronization, making it a crucial phase in the commissioning process.
As China's first complete export of hot-rolled strip steel project, all mechanical equipment for this project is domestically manufactured and incorporates advanced AGC, AWC, CVC thickness, and shape control. Due to the project's high requirements for equipment installation accuracy, complex fluid systems, a large number of electrical devices, and various factors related to post-earthquake reconstruction, the project faced significant challenges in advancing and debugging. The Sinosteel MECC project team systematically planned, finely decomposed, and gradually implemented the project, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise and a scientific and rigorous work style. Ultimately, they successfully completed the commissioning guidance tasks for the first main motor on schedule and with high quality.
