Recently, the sintering plant project 5# of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) in Russia, undertaken by Sinosteel Equpment & Engineering Co., Ltd. (Sinosteel MECC), successfully passed the performance evaluation. The indicators reached international advanced levels, and MMK expressed their gratitude in a letter:
"Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works expresses profound respect to Sinosteel MECC for the work done and looks forward to long-term mutual cooperation."
Breaking Through Industry Challenges Reaching International Advanced Levels
Sinosteel MECC, as the EP contractor, undertook the MMK 5# sintering plant project, responsible for the design, supply, installation, commissioning guidance, and training for the 2x300 square meters sintering production line and the supporting raw material area. The annual output is 5.5 million tons of finished sinter.
This project is the largest sintering project exported to Russia by a Chinese company to date. The significant challenge of the project is its location in a high-cold region with high requirements for sintering with a high proportion of fine powder – an industry difficulty. Through continuous efforts by Sinosteel MECC and the sincere cooperation between China and Russia, the project was put into operation on schedule. Through continuous optimization and adjustment, the utilization coefficient of the sintering machine reached 1.3t/m2·h under conditions of more than 93% fine ore powder. It smoothly achieved all performance indicators specified in the contract, reaching international advanced levels and gaining full recognition from MMK.
