The 265m² sinter plant project of Xinjiang Bayi (Group) Corporation, contracted by SINOSTEEL MECC, was started up on December 16th, 2006, and smoothly produced quality sinter ore by 2 am of December 18th. Up to then the hot commissioning of the whole line was completely successful.

The 265m² sinter plant project is the first EPC contract in BT way by SINOSTEEL MECC. The contract was signed on January 18^th, 2006 with stipulated construction period of 11 months. But counted from March 28^th 2006, the groundbreaking date, the actual construction period is only of eight and half months. This sinter plant project is ranked as the top first construction record with shortest construction period, located in remote area, without easy transport access. 265 m² sintering machine project is the key project of 11th Five Year Plan of Xinjiang Bayi (Group) Corp, and has been initiated with priority. The project will help to improve the raw material properties and to reduce the power consumption, and will be meaningful to the quality improving of their products. At the same time, this is also its first project awarded to contractor from outside the group corporation. In this case the project will be meaningful in terms of the new breakthrough made by S INOSTEEL MECC in Bayi (Group) Corporation and the implementation of BT way in domestic and overseas market. SINOSTEEL MECC achieved the project in shortest time with highest quality, and hit the record of same type of construction project. After hot commissioning, everything is going well. SINOSTEEL MECC won the high appreciation from the project owner.

Presently Xinjiang Bayi 265m² sinter plant is undergoing trial production. SINOSTEEL MECC’s work team for the project is now working hard to ensure the successful final acceptance, and to pave the way for its further exploration in this new market.
