On September 17th 2006, SINOSTEEL MECC just accomplished the construction of the second 450m3 BF for Honghe Steel Factory of Kunming Iron & Steel Group in EPC way and successfully achieved the tapping once for all, which marks the official completion and operation of 1 million ton iron making line. At present all equipments are functioning well and receiving the high compliment from project owner.

Honghe Steel Factory 1 million ton iron making project comprising material yard, 2×90m2 sinter machines, 2×450m3 BFs and associated projects includes two phases, of which the first phase had been finished and put into production since February of 2005, while the second one started from November 18th of 2005, expected to have 10 months construction period. SINOSTEEL MECC carefully organized the project, strengthening the cooperation between project owner, design institute, equipment manufacturers, and construction company to enhance the regulation and overcome the difficulties in site. In this case, with the collective effort by all technicians and working staff in the site the sinter plant of the second phase project was put into operation on August 31 of 2006, 18 days earlier than planned construction period. Presently the second phase project is undergoing trial production. SINOSTEEL MECC’s project group is making full effort to ensure the successful final acceptance of the project.
