BACK SINOSTEEL MECC With Nippon Steel And MARUBENI Corporation Awarded The Contract In Their Joint Bid For Taiyuan I/S EAF Clean Production Project

SINOSTEEL MECC allied with Nippon Steel and Marubeni Corporation to join the Taiyuan I/S EAF Clean Production Project tendering competition, which are participated by many world-renowned enterprises like VAI, Danieli etc. SINOSTEEL MECC bid group was awarded and signed on the contract on April 24, 2006. The total contract price reaches 3.623 billion JPY (equaling 262 million RMB). One set 90t high-power EAF with designed capacity of 700 thousand tons per year and auxiliary system have been included in the contract. The proportion contracted by SINOSTEEL MECC is worth of 1.6 billion JPY (equaling 110 million RMB). The supply scope of SINOSTEEL MECC includes partial technical process and equipment design, and manufacture, supply, erection and supervision for the domestically supplied equipment.

Taiyuan I/S EAF clean production project is a key project aimed to relieve the air and water pollution in Taiyuan city, further make better the environment by using the loan from Japan Bank For International Cooperation to import advanced clean production technology, process and equipments, which is the idea of fully implementation of scientific development. This project will help Taiyuan I/S to achieve the strategic objective to become the most competitive stainless steel producer in the world, and will have major effect on the Taiyuan I/S production, make a change to the Taiyuan city residential environment, and boost the local economy. SINOSTEEL MECC joining the Nippon Steel and Marubeni Corporation to win the contract among the strong competition signaled that its cooperation with world famous enterprises keeps deepening and that it is making breakthrough in the market of EAF and Environmental Energy engineering project, which consolidates the better foundation for its further exploring in this area.
